Dear Diary,
Thatʼs how people start off a diary entry, right? Iʼm going to do it like that even if it
is wrong.
I will start by introducing myself, my family and other people in my life. My name
is Georgia and Iʼm a two-year-old liger. My mother, who unfortunately died while giving
birth to me was named Jennifer and she was a very elegant tigress. My grumpy fatherʼs
name is Daniel and he is a lion with a very long mane. I live in a zoo and since my
mother died the zookeepers take very good care of me. My favorite zookeeper is
named Emma and she has very long shiny dark brown hair that she always wears in a
fishtail braid.
This morning Emma came into my cage and worked very hard on brushing my
stripy fur. She spent twice as much time on cleaning me and making me look perfect.
While she was brushing my mane she whispered to me “You are going to star in
a major movie, Georgia! The zoo is closed today so as soon as the filmmakers come
they will start filming you!”
I couldʼt talk to Emma but if I could I would have told her how long I have
yearned to take part in a movie. Itʼs always all the other animals in this zoo that have
movies about themselves. This time Iʼm the star!
About an hour after Emma left my enclosure an enormous crew of people came
just to film me! The crew was larger than any of the other crews used to film other
animal movies.
Immediately, around ten people came into my enclosure and starting grooming
me and setting up cameras around my pen and in other places around the zoo. The
cameras were not used today but are going to be used tomorrow.
Today, actors practiced scenes with me and the two animal trainers worked with
Emma to make sure I was capable of doing everything I was required to do in the
movie. I was making the two animal trainers very happy by showing them all the tricks
Emma and I have been working on ever since I was born.
I have to go to bed because I have a long day ahead of me but, I promise I will
try to write tomorrow.

Dear Diary,
Today I start filming in half an hour. I am having fun in this movie but, I feel that
Emma is being pushed off to the side even though she taught me everything I know and
I wouldnʼt be in this movie if it wasnʼt for Emma. It is so unfair that Emma canʼt be a
bigger part in the behind the scenes animal training. The director, Dave Bluntworth,
ignores the actors and focuses on me. In this movie filming, everyone is being treated
like they donʼt matter except for me. Good thing this is all over in two weeks and
everything will go back to normal.
I have to go start filming. Bye for now.
July 1, 2014.
Dear Diary,
I just experienced a very traumatic afternoon. The director thought that I have
great potential and was going to fly me all the way from here (Tamworth, Australia) to
Hollywood. I liked filming the first movie but I would never want to be away from what
little family I have here. My father is the only part of my family I have left and Emma is
still very close to me.
The director was talking to the zoo owner. Emma and my dad were both crying.
Then Dave Bluntworth waltzed into my pen.
Dave paused for a moment and then ordered “You two animal trainers! Get over
here and rope up this liger! We are leaving now!”
Emma sobbed even louder when she heard this. She reached out and grabbed
around my neck.
Between sobs she said “You canʼt do this! We love her more than you ever will!”
The director seemed shocked then replied with “Ha ha! Thatʼs cute. You think you
have a choice. I just talked to the zoo owner and he told me that the liger was mine after
I gave him a check with many numbers on it.”
I built up enough courage and I let out a “ROAR”
After that I leaped up and batted my paws in the air. The director let out a huge
gasp then stumbled backwards out of my pen. Mr. Bluntworth shuffled into the zoo
keeperʼs office. From out here in my pen I heard “I want my money back! You said this liger was
well behaved!”The zoo owner happily gave him his money back and I got to stay with my dad
and Emma. After that everyone agreed to never let anyone film any animal in this zoo ever
again. I guess being a star isnʼt what I want after all.
